This is for whenever you only have 15 minutes to spare at lunch or when you have NO IDEA what to eat!

You will need:

rice noodles
red curry paste
carrot
chicken stock
corn (not pictured, it came to me later!)
garlic and
capsicum

I know this may sound slack, but you just need to add as much of everything as you see fit. Maybe I like mine spicier than yours, and therefore you should find out how YOU like to make this soup!!

Birthday

Dearest friends,

You would be surprised at all the things I did while I have had my holiday from writing here!

This such as a fine birthday, a dandy birthday gathering and a big annual awards ceremony at my school. My birthday was lovely, I received so many gifts! I will try my absolute best to make all the thank you cards over the weekend! My dandy birthday gathering was lovely also, we went to a nice park which was a sanctuary for Australian trees, and I hung some beautiful bauble-y things from the trees as well as streamers and buntings! I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did! The annual awards ceremony was such a big day, rehearsals up until perhaps 6pm and then the ceremony finally began at 6:30, in which I received my Religious Values Education and Christian Living Award! Thank you everyone for your support!

... I wish that I could just be happy.

You know, happy with myself. Happy with my life, my talents, my family.

I wish that I didn't always have to worry about what other people thought of me.

Today, my friend suggested that she didn't even like mentioning an 'anonymous' activity.

I said, "Hey, I think I'd like to try."

She said to me like I was the craziest person in the world, "why would you even LIKE to do that?"

I think my head exploded. All I tried to do was not to burst out crying or faint.

I have never been talked to like that in my whole life and it was all I could do not to run away.

I have a problem accepting who I am and at the moment I'm on really unsure footing.

I love pipstudio, I love mushrooms. I really, really, really love my pussy cat because she's the only one I can hug without a time limit. And I really love owls.

I really love music, and my singing voice. But if only I could use it...

I really love ballet but I'm not aloud to study it.

I like the color red. This friend that hurt me very badly today has touched my feelers and I've popped back into my shell. I don't know why it hurt me so badly, but perhaps it was just the way she talked to me as if I was useless.

Imagining: The eddying stream

The clouds drifted apart, leaving holes in which the sun could filter through and catch the dewdrops carefully stationed on the tips of the leaves of the amphitheater above my angelic head.

Wandering down a well-worn path, I can hear the trickling of a stream of Eden beside me, it whispers in a gurgling, foreign language that only the water sprites can understand. This, in essence, comforts me and brings life to the very depths of my soul.

I realize how flood-ridden my surroundings are, and wonder whether I am the first of my kind to wonder along this path. I think of whether, many moons past, a fairy, a goblin or some dinosaur-like creature frolicked along the same path I did.

A roughly attired fallen tree sits stubbornly in my path, he has welcomed the comfort of life from those mushrooms that have now taken residence in his dying limbs. Sitting atop a sturdy branch is a mythical cat, who looks at me carefully. It mews studiously as I carefully approach it, however, once I am a meter from it's mystical body, it elopes into the bushes without every saying a word regarding my presence.

Why I hate media

Firstly, you know how much I love the old-fashioned way of life.

Life was simple, slow-paced, not many people were expecting much of you.

If you did something wrong, the whole world didn't have to know.

Celebrities weren't what they are today; they were famous for doing good, and for putting effort into their career. Children were safe, adults were safe, and the world seemed like a safer, happier place to be.

The fact is, now we know too much. We know about what is out above this earth.

We know what we have done to this earth. We have extrapolated data into the future, just so that we can "feel better" about what's to come. I'm not so sure. I think we are all too unstable to just believe in ourselves, others and the way this world works.

I wish I could go back in time where women wore sensible clothing, cared only about their children and were courted respectfully. If only we could get back that way of life, the way that people respected themselves. The way they would not wreck their lives at the age of fifteen with bodily harm. The way children were not violent, adults were not violent and the way that love could be everlasting.

If only...

The best thing about Brisbane

The best thing about Brisbane is how amazingly community-oriented we are, especially after the floods. It's amazing, there were parts of Brisbane I had not seen and people I had not known after this event. We have pulled together strongly and are now a better community because of it.

I also love:

our trees!
the beautiful winters - not too cold!
the many different shops there are to shop in
the great schools and universities you can go to
the spirit of all the people here!
the amazing art gallery I have on my doorstep (not literally haha maybe 15 minutes away?)

Leukemia Ward

Today I went to the Leukemia Ward at my local children's hospital to hand out Easter Eggs collected by my school.

The children there are so sick and yet they try to be happy just for the visitors.

It's almost as if their souls shine out as their body goes through hard times.

I ask you all to pray for all the sick children in the world who need the help of Christ in their lives.

Also, reach out wherever you can.

Craft project 3: Embroidered Rainy Scene

Hi and welcome back to another fabulous day of craftiness!

Today you'll be making a beautiful scene of a cloud, rain and sunshine.

Hopefully this will encourage you to think of the positive, like:

"Oh, there is ALWAYS sunshine after the rain!".

Today you'll need:

wooden embroidery hoop (you will also use this for the frame, so paint it a different color if you want it to stand out!!!)
good quality calico (preferably cream or white but I guess blue would do)
blue, gold/yellow and white embroidery thread (I'm using a bright blue (number DMC 3845) and a yellow (number 725))
pincushion WITH pins
sewing and paper scissors
gold or silver shiny fabric for the cloud
needles
this easily downloadable pattern (I'm afraid there is only a cloud, you'll have to invent your own scene for individuality! that's the challenge!)

What to do:

*I advise you to have a read through before going ahead, it will get you familiar with what you're working with!*

Also, this is only a simple set of instructions. You can adapt on it in any way, like making your cloud different colors, or stuffing it for some examples! Oh, or you could make it have a cute kawaii face?

loosen the embroidery hoop, take the middle hoop out, fit your fabric (calico) in, put the inside hoop back in and tighten the hoop!

print out the cloud and cut out using your paper scissors. if you use your fabric scissors on paper, you will make the edges blunt. after cutting it out, pin it onto your sparkly silver or gold fabric

and now cut THIS out!!!. pin onto your calico

embroider around the outside. a suggestion to make it even more fabradical is to sew it with sparkly silver or gold thread for the added 'positive silver lining' touch

when finished take the pins out and say to yourself, "tada!". get your yellow/gold embroidery thread out and embroider your sun (and your rays if you feel like it. I also added a cute little smiley face!)

now grab your blue embroidery thread and sew some pretty, long raindrops! i am also going to put some sequins on now as well!

Now you are finished!!!!

I have advertised and yet nobody will guest post unfortunately.

I am a working young lady now, and that takes up my time.

I wish to make all my readers happy, and yet I cannot make myself happy.... simply because having to make crafty projects for you every day, for a month with hardly any responses from you means that it makes me a bit stressy!

Craft project 2: Collaged envelopes

Welcome again to another day of crafty challenges!

You are welcomed to participate in todays crafty challenge:

Collaged envelopes!

I often make these for friends, especially those who live overseas.

These special decorations are beautiful gifts for others (if you make a pack) and also great for a special surprise! All your friends will be like, "wow, I wonder where she/he bought this from??"

Ok, so here's the basics

Materials

downloaded, printed and cut out copy of an envelope template
paper
stickers
thread
double sided tape
fabric
sewing machine (if you want to sew your envelope together)
ideas (from here) (this book is great for ideas too!)
art markers (felt tip pens, pencils and fine tipped pens)

What to do

Get your materials ready! I used an old flimsy cartoon that I got at lifeline, my Cath Kidston stickers and all sorts of other things!

2.Stick down all your elements, trace out the envelope and cut!!!

3. I advise you all to stick one piece of paper on to another if the first was flimsy (remember it has to go through those custom things).

4. Now fold and stick your sides together and admire your work! Of course, it would be a great idea to send it someone special too!

Craft a day project 1: Raindrop Garland

Materials

paper
raindrop template
scissors
double-sided tape
ribbons and decorations
sewing machine
bobbin
thread

How-to:

1. prepare materials:

2. Cut out the shapes and pin onto fabric and/or paper. You will need one shape for the front and back, unless you've got double sided paper

3. Cut out the shapes from the materials

4. Sew in a straight line down the center to create a bunting, leaving gaps in between to put ribbon etc. onto it

5. Once you're done, add flourishes of your own creativity, such as cute embroidered faces, ribbons, buttons, sparkles -- whatever takes your fancy!

Hey guys,

been away a bit because I've been caught up in allergic reactions every night.

Weird rashes all over my body which feels like someone is tickling me with a feather.... ALL over my body.

Last night I got so itchy (even inside my eyeballs and ears) that mum put bicarb with water on my open bits of skin... It hurt and was itchy like crazy but afterwards it felt SO GOOD!!

On Sunday I had an allergic reaction to something...

I think I got bitten by a spider on my finger, which swelled up, went red and hurt like crazy! I was also really tingly down the opposite side of my body, on my face as well (couldn't feel my face). Weird as!

So that's what's been up with me...

I will be having this same rash-y allergic reaction for some time I think, if so I'll go to the doctor to see what he/she can do.

You hold your violin in your left hand, hoping the dampness of your case won't damage the humidity levels and make your violin go out of tune.

After eating yummy bought sweeties from a sweet stall, your friend's mother rushes up to you and gives you a....
pretty, vibrant, non-smelly gerbera!!!

You say a big thank you!

And yet, after a long day of holding your gerbera and talking to other fellow gatherers, you realize that the top of your gerbera has broken from the stalk! OH NO!!!

But when you get home, your gerbera is a happy little thing because it's in a happy little room with happy little people.

Remember, it's almost April!!!

THE "daily craft" project

So, I was thinking.

Maybe it would be a good idea to get my readers and perhaps even myself to do one craft project per day. No rewards from me, just happy smiles and a place in my flickr group.

A day at school with the nerds

I walk into school pulling along a bag on wheels. I look down so that those around me can't recognize me and say "you're that girl with the cripple bag". Yeah, we make it a joke among our friends, but when you're the one with this bag you can be seen as someone different. Looking down makes my glasses slide down the bridge of my nose, so I automatically slide them up again with my finger... how nerdy!

Book Review: The Understudy’s Revenge by Sophie Masson

Romance, comedy, murder and mystery are magically intertwined in this heart-wrenching novel. In the limited amount of 150 words or less, it is hard to describe the detailed weaving of multiple stories that the author, Sophie Masson, has used to write her novel. I am disappointed to admit that the beginning of the book dragged on for ages. It was like eating a flowery apple, you take your first bite and you‘re afraid it won’t get better. For the sake of this review, I read on. By the end of the seventh chapter, however, my heart started to flutter uneasily and my breath got stuck in my throat. It was getting too good to put down. I finished it that night. Please, for the sake of a hearty-lamb-roast-like novel, keep on reading until the plot hits you like a spine-crushing brick wall.

I had such a good day. We opened our stockings (which mum + I made last night) and then attended Church, according to my faith, then came the presents. I gave my dad a dutch pancake maker which he was ecstatic about, and I received this amazing Ipod docking station:

Today I'm going to talk all about terrariums!

This video shows very delicately how to create a beautiful light bulb terrarium, however I don't have a light bulb this big, hands that strong, tweezers that long or a workspace that engaging! So, I have decided I may not try this...

But it has got me thinking of how I can make a terrarium of my own. I've been looking through the house of glass containers, jars etc. I could use to make my own. I found an old fish tank that would look nice, but to try out my planting skills I started off with a jam jar. Unfortunately, I don;t have any photos of myself doing it, but if you could bare with my words perhaps you could make one yourself?

Jam Jar Terrariums

Look around your garden for some moss. You will find moss in shady and moist parts of your garden, in crevices, nooks and crannies.
Get a small shovel and dig a handful of moss from the ground, with heaps of soil underneath. Don't have too much, it has to fit inside your jam jar.
Wriggle all the little weeds from it that you don't want, and check the soil for anything that mite contaminate it if you found it in the city (like cigarette buds).
If your dirt isn't moist, gently spray it with water.
Pile the dirt on the bottom of your jam jar, and heap the moss over it. Now would be the time to put little plants in your moss. Do so by sticking your finger gently through the moss and snuggling the roots in the damp soil.
You should be done now, so gently put your lid on the top. I actually put my moss on top of my lid and put the jar over the top, but this didn't work despite what others told me, because the lid didn't screw on,

Finish off your terrarium with decorations such as miniature plastic deers. I am making two toadstools at the moment out of clay to stick inside, which will have a wire between them and miniature clothes hanging off it.... It's meant to be a tiny gnome washing line! Make sure you spray your moss every day.

Which, by the way, should be loved by non-Christians as well. It's not at all 'gospel-ish' and it's just a happy, bright song. My blog ins't a purely Christians only blog, so I won't ramble on, or talk about my religion unless you want me to. And I don't judge people for what they are: homosexuals, Buddhists, punks, rappers whatever you are, you're wonderful.

Dresses or Jeans? Dresses. Anybody who knows me knows this. I'm feminine!
House or Apartment? House please! A house is a home, and I think there is much more memories to be had in a house with your family instead of an apartment with yourself.
Shop Online or Offline? Offline! Online is so virtual, you can't feel and try things on. It's so much more fake. Not that I don't shop online because I do and in some circumstances it's cheaper etc.
DVDs or Downloads? I really don't know. I think DVDs are better simply because you're able to savor it with other people.
Cocktails or Juice? Juice please, I don't drink alcohol.
Chocolate or Strawberry? CHOCOLATE! Nothing beats the soothing taste of chocolate. And the feeling you get afterwards.
Laptop or PC? Laptop because it's portable and less heavy. I can use it while in the hammock or on my desk.
Magazines or Newspapers? Magazines... newspapers well... remind me too much of school.
Facebook or Twitter? I don't use either regularly, so I wouldn't know. Neither are my type of thing.
CDs or MP3s? Well, I'm a bit obsessed with my ipod so I would have to say MP3s.
Kids or Pets? Ouch... I don't know. Both are gorgeous in their own way.
Macaron or Cupcakes? Either! I'd probably say macaroons because they take more time and effort to make.
Walk or Run? Walking! Running makes me puff and sweat.
Breakfast in Bed or Breakfast Out? Breakfast in bed 'cause my windows let in the most beautiful light in the morning and I can't take my pussies out to restaurants. They'd freak and so would I.
Market or Supermarket? Markets produce the best fruit and veges and you can meet people. So definitely markets.
Sourdough or Grainy? I don't eat bread... I'm gluten free and their bread tends to taste weird. My friends also know that when I was on school camp I also had to eat one loaf for the whole week and carry it in my pack. And it rained, so by the end of the week it was just a ball of soggy crumbs. Ew.
Heels or Flats? Well, heels look much more pretty, but flats feel better, and they can also look pretty. Plus, I can walk in them.
Late nights or Not? Please, no late nights. Once I have just one, I feel lethargic for ages.
Coffee or Tea? Tea please, although I'm getting used to very milky lates

Another decision... ear piercing!

Sorry for the long wait for another post. I've been so busy!
Well, it's my birthday on the 9th of November, so I decided I'd go and get my ears pierced.
For the first time.
Well, all I ask for is some advice, good luck and stories of when you got your first piercing.
Also, for your own information, this will be the first and last.
I do not wish to have another, but I don't take any offence to those who do.
You still look great with a trillion piercings but this blog isn't a monologue of my piercings.

the act of pulling out teeth

Just 1/2 an hour ago, I traveled to the dentist and got four teeth pulled out.

It was such a weird sensation, I got anesthetic in my gums and cheek, and this process took so much longer then the teeth pulling out. I was so nervous my legs were shaking, and afterwards I felt very faint. Weird. Now my mouth's all numb, and I'm talking like a drunk. If you were to see me, you'd laugh so much! I definitely have been!

Weekend project: I ♥ clouds

Good morning (those who are Australian) and good evening those who are not....

I am presenting you this weekends craft challenge:

CLOUDS!

I know, I know. Clouds may seem boring. I mean, we see them every day right?

Well, lets make them a bit more crafty. A bit more inspirational.

Ok. So if you're having some troubles, here's what I did:

Stuffed clouds

(can be used as a brooch, hairpin, cushion or mobile)

You will need:

cardboard or hard paper
scissors (paper and fabric)
white felt
white embroidery string
multicolored embroidery string (optional)
beads (optional)
tough string (optional)

How to make it:

draw up your pattern (this will just be a basic cloud picture) onto cardboard, hard paper or just plain paper
cut it out with your paper scissors
pin or hold onto your white felt
cut two pieces out
(optional: if you want to embroidery a pattern on your cloud, do so now)
align the two felt fabric pieces together, and stitch around the outside
make sure you leave a whole for the stuffing (and, optional: for some string to go through, if you want it to be a mobile)
stuff the stuffing inside (optional: and string)
sew up the gap
(optional: if you want to make it a brooch, sew a brooch pin on the back. if you want it to be a hair clip, sew a bobby pin or plain clip on the back. easy!)
now you're done!

Great book review

This book. Oh my. I am almost half way through it and it's amazing.

Looking at the cover, I was dreading reading it. It looked so much like a 'typical' boy book, with a grey and bland-looking hover car digitally drawn on the front cover. No cover art, sparkles, swirls or nice color coordination. But, thanks to some friends who told me I just HAD to read it, I did just that.

And I just finished reading. At 5:30pm I decided to take a break, after a full day of non-stop reading.

Here's the blurb:

Meet Jason Chaser, hover car racer. He's won himself a place at the International Race School, where racers either make it on to the Pro Circuit - or they crash and burn. But he's an outsider. He's younger than the other racers. His car, the Argonaut, is older. And on top of that, someone doesn't want him to succeed at the School and will do anything to stop him. Embarrassment

Well.

I went out to buy some wool (for felting).

I got really hot inside and outside the shop, and my body became unaccustomed to the heat.

I started to feel like I usually do if I don't eat for a while (faint), but when I went to buy some food I had to sit down. Mum was there (luckily) to help me, but I had to lie down in the middle of the shopping center on a couchy-seat. And cry.... I was so embarrassed!

We walked in about 5 meter sections until we finally reached Shingle Inn (my favorite gluten-free cafe). Once I got there I started to shake (Louisa you know what that's like), and I thought I may have my second really bad panic attack. Luckily it went away when I (again) lay down on the couch.

Few....

Life's a real mystery isn't it?

P.S: Still needing some help with vintage stores in Central Brisbane! Any ideas?

(I need them by tomorrow... I'm going out shopping!!! Maybe I can find some owl things or cute fabrics?)

Cupboard Cat

Maybe 15 minutes ago I heard a scrabbling from our laundry.

My little kitten Minoes had made a little nest in the linen cupboard! As the camera was preparing for a photo (flashing it's head off) Minoes got intrigued (photo four). I tried to get her to make funny faces by scratching my finger... the signal for 'play time'.

Last night her big brother Harley bit her on her nose (you may be able to see a little spot on her nose.... (especially in the last photo?).

Firstly, I apologize for the long wait for another post.

BUT, now I'm asking you another favor.

YES, yet another.

I am asking you for some advice. My question:

Whatever am I going to wear for summer?

You see, I'm a hard case. I know what's fashionable and what I like.

However, I know I enjoy everything vintage. But I just can't get my head around not wearing any winter clothes. I am a bit stuck.

So, if you could help me, could you do me a favor and work out some beautifully vintage outfits for me?

Battle wounds

I was home sick today, which I found a very lucky coincidence because, at around midday, my lovely kitten Minoes ran through the door looking battered. We think she was tuck in something and tried to get out. She was very scared and hid underneath my mother's bed. I don't think it hurt her very much because she didn't mind being held, moved around or touched in her bear and scratched areas. We took her to the vet and luckily she had no internal injuries, but we knew she was trying to escape from being trapped somewhere because her claws are ragged.

We bought her a new feather toy (KATE: like the one I bought while we went shopping that she has now fully eaten). She seems fine, but we have to put some antiseptic kind of cream on her ear because she can't lick it clean. She will have a few days indoors to make sure she's fine, and she's had an injection to keep her healthy.

I am so glad she's OK.

4 Simple goals

Today I arrived at school at 7:00am (woke up at 5:45) and finished my geography homework (I'm studying world tourism) and a chapter of my maths study... I have to do 11 exercises by next Wednesday (preferably by the weekend). Trust me, today I only got through 1 chapter!

The rest of my day was great... Tuesday's are my best day. But in every spare minute of thinking I thought of how much I have to do and the stress overwhelmed me again. Don't let me list all the stuff I have to do... it's listed right beside me!

I have done so many hours of homework this afternoon my brain honestly feels like the heaviest hippo is residing in it and it will fall off my neck soon and roll across the floor with all the weight!!!

My poor friend Kate has had a really sore rib for the past couple of days and this time for her must be agony, with all of her commitments like horse riding, going to the farm and watching her all-time favourite move (at the moment, it changes often) stick it.

She has urged me to watch it. Have you seen it before or not?

So, please forgive me for my ranting and please post me a comment or email or something! It will honestly help me get through this! (if you want to send me a letter and I have have been talking to you on email for a while, email me again for my address)
